About Gomi

Do you like my “Avatar”? I look much better in the real world, ha, ha.

People have called me Gomi for more than 20 years now. I don’t even remember why I picked that name and where it came from, but it’s what everybody calls me.

I grew up in East-Germany back when East and West were still separated by a concrete wall and barbwire. Picking your own “battle name” was one of the few liberties you had back then and also a rite of passage in the good old days of Punkland.

Yes, I used to play bass in “The Stranded”, a band a lot of people liked very much. We recorded some records which you may find on Ebay if you’re lucky. I was also involved with the early Anti-globalisation movement and I did a couple of things I’m not exactly proud of, but you have no idea what the early 1990s were like in old Berlin.

There are probably some horrible old pictures of me somewhere else on the Internet, but I don’t have time to think about the past too much.

For more than ten years I’ve been travelling around the world, fixing things and meeting a lot of new people and after all this time I thought I might as well start a blog to catch up with the rest of the world out there.

I will post whenever I find the time and a connection out there.
